Introducing our Bacon Bits - Day 5

Our Hambo Hoedown isn't only a fun weekly challenge -- it's also a "Bacon Bit" garden! Did you know that we've discovered some of our designers from their amazing entries in our challenges? Such was the case for our next new addition to the team -- Jan Hunnicutt! Jan kept winning our "Best in Show" award at the Hoedown, which is a sign that we loved her creations. Now, we're so happy to have her join us on an "official" basis!

Here's a little bit about Jan, in her words:

I'm married to a wonderful man who supports and enables my paper craft addiction.  We have two grade school age kids living at home and three adult children.  We live in a small town in western Arizona along the Colorado River, both my husband and I have lived in the area most of our lives.  I love all kinds of craft/home decor/renovation projects.  I've been a card maker since 2004 and have discovered digital images and Copic markers in the last couple of years; I'm in paper crafters heaven! 

I’m an avid supporter of Operation Write Home and volunteer as their Midweek Throwdown challenge hostess, most of my handmade cards are donated to Operation Write Home – their mission is: 
Supporting our nation's armed forces by sending blank handmade greeting cards to write home on, as well as cards of gratitude to encourage them. 

I'm very excited to be a Hambo Stamps Bacon Bit!

Introducing our Bacon Bits - Day 4

We continue with Day 4 of our "Bacon Bit" design team reveal. Today we welcome back another of our designers from last term - Carolina Little! Last term was Carolina's first time being on a design team, but she has proven that she's not only got an abundance of talent, but she's a good sport -- always up for any challenge or curve ball we threw at her. And even though she served on the "rubber" team before, she loved playing along in the Hoedown challenges with all of the digi girls, showing that the challenges are possible with rubber too. Carolina will be Captain of "Team Squeal." We're so happy that she's staying with us a little longer!

Hello everyone!!! My name is Carolina Little and I am thrilled to be part of this fun design team. I am a “South American” wife and mother of three boys and a sweet dog. I had to “bold” the South American for you to understand my confusing English...LOL. I have been married for sixteen years and we all live in Canada. I enjoy my days with my family, driving my kids everywhere and crafting as much as my life lets me. 

 

I have been scrapbooking and card making for the last seven years but since I was a little girl I have always loved doing any type of crafts.

Introducing our Bacon Bits - Day 3

Our design team call brought us a lot of great talent, including that of Bacon Bit #3 (not her official title!) .... Meredith Winston!

Do you see that cute little piggie on her shoulder? And now I'm imagining her saying, "a little piggie told me" -- instead of that gossipy little birdie we always hear about!

More about Meredith:

I have been doing fine art, crafting, sewing, knitting, collaging and photography for as long as I remember. My style changes as the wind blows. I used to rage against this while trying to carve my “niche” so to speak but I’ve learned to love how versatile my taste can be, ever changing and ever evolving. I am a stay at home, 39 year old Mother of two super, extra-delicious, fantastic children ages 7.5 and 6 respectively; I have a loving and supportive husband of 15 years along with an awesome dog named Katie. 

I have always loved making things with my hands. I specifically ADORE making cards, scrappy projects and alterable creations. I find inspiration EVERYWHERE. I consider myself very blessed to be able to do what I LOVE every single day! 

Welcome Meredith! We're excited to experience your versatility!

Introducing our Bacon Bits - Day 2

Today we are very happy to welcome back returning Bacon Bit -- Deborah Anton!! You're probably familiar with Deborah's fun Hoedown samples; she served on our "Digi" team last term. However, this term we're changing things up: each designer will work with rubber AND digi stamps (2 months each). Judy, our DT Coordinator, has divided the designers into two teams -- Team Oink, which will first design with rubber stamps, and then switch to digis for the final two months of the term, and Team Squeal, which will begin with digis, and then switch to rubber later. Deborah will be the captain of Team Oink!

Here is a little reminder of how Deborah's stampin' career began:

HI! My name is Deborah Anton and I am a stay at home engineer to 9 year old twin boys and a wife of 10 years to an awesome Army Officer.  I am originally from California but currently live in Tennessee.  I keep pretty busy just on the home-front with my active boys, moving every few years, and volunteering with the Army.  But in the little "me" time I get, I love to do anything crafty!! I started out 11 years ago designing and creating jewelry, which led me to having my own business and having some large corporate accounts.  Then about 6 years ago, I really starting getting into paper crafts.  I began to divide my time between jewelry and paper-crafting, thus my blog and SCS name of Beadn&Stampn! I am so excited to be part of the Hambo Design Team and work alongside these talented ladies!! In my other spare time, (who am I kidding?) I enjoy music, singing, dancing, and of course Beadn&Stampn!

Introducing our Bacon Bits - Day 1

Our design team for the next term (June - Sept.) has been chosen, and we're thrilled to begin introducing them to you, one at a time, until their term "officially" begins on June 1.

The first new Bacon Bit to enter the pig pen is .... Kecia Waters!!!

A little about Kecia, in her words:

I am absolutely elated to be a Bacon Bit on Hambo Stamps Design Team. Thank you for such an honor and privilege!

I’ve been stamping for almost 10 years now. I love coloring images with alcohol markers and color pencils, and usually reach for bright, bold colors in my designs.

I just got married two years ago and I am so happy (and relieved) that my husband, Chris, encourages my card designing obsession. We often will spend our time together in my stamp room, with him surfing the web and with me coloring away. When I am not stamping, I am busy cheering my Ohio State Buckeyes onto victory in football, playing with my spoiled, but adorable dachshund, Sloopy, or teaching first grade. It all keeps me busy, but I love every minute of it.

How's this for a show of support from Sloopy? LOL

"Channel Surfing" Winners!!

We had so much fun with our "Channel Surfing" blog hop this past weekend, that there's already been talk of doing a "Part 2"; after all, there are still SO many TV shows to watch!

As promised, we've got two winners to announce from our hop. First up is the award to a random hopper who left a comment at every blog along the hop .... and that prize goes to Carol! Our second prize is awarded to the non-DT participant who created our favorite card of the hop. Appropriately, the challenge this week is to use a Hambo image (any Hambo, rubber or digi) along with paper-piercing on the card. Get it? Big needle = piercing ... LOL! (Judy definitely show her sense of humor in concocting these challenges!)

"Channel Surfing" - A Hambo Blog Hop!!

Thanks for tuning in to today's Hambo "Channel Surfing" Customer Blog Hop!! If you haven't already gathered from the title of this post, today we are using our Hambo stamps to create projects based on TV shows, past & present. I wonder how many of the featured shows were favorites of yours? Keep your remote control handy so you can click thru the "channels" and see! And the best part is that there will be no commercial interrup...... BUY HAMBO STAMPS!!!....tions (ahem) to slow you down.

We'll be awarding two prizes at the end of the hop: a $15 shopping spree in our digi store will be earned by one randomly-chosen hopper who leaves a comment at each of the "channels" along the way, and the second prize, a $20 Hambo site-wide shopping spree, will be awarded to the "Best in (TV) Show" project creator. Those winners will be announced here, as well as on the Hoedown blog post, on Wed., May 23. (Red carpet attire for the presentation is optional.)

Can you guess my show? It's "(Sax) & the City"! And while Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte are nowhere to be found, the city, who arguably was the star of the show anyway, is featured. I stamped and embossed the Skyline and Music Notes (rubber stamps), then added the "Monster Sax" digi, colored with Copics. I showed Tim my card and asked him which TV show he thought this was, and his first guess was "Hill Street Blues" -- so there you go, two TV shows for the price of one. :)

(Oh dear - one of those awful "Emergency Stamping Network" tests. Sorry!)

As you know, you can't channel surf without hitting reruns of something! Here is a rerun of mine, that was featured on the blog once before, but fits this theme so well I had to DVR it to play back today:

I always loved the Brady Bunch and still crack up at this "hamage" to it! This card uses several of our pig rubber stamps, along with the "Hogs & Kisses" sentiment.

Reminder: Upcoming Blog Hop - Join Us!

Just a reminder: We have a fun customer-inclusive blog hop coming up next week! Our jammin’ theme is “Channel Surfing.” Using any Hambo image, either rubber or digital, create a project that represents and depicts a TV SHOW title! Maybe it’s your favorite program, or maybe it’s one that you don’t even like! Whatever it is, we want to see your TV Show creations!
